PATA Malaysia Chapter (PMC), supported by Tourism Malaysia and Sabah Tourism Board held a Travel Trade Exchange (TRAVEX) session on 08 August 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The TRAVEX, a first time initiative in recent years, was aimed at creating a platform for travel trade participants (buyers/sellers) from Peninsular Malaysia to meet up with the tourism product suppliers/buyers from Sabah, with the objective to enhance their business opportunities in facilitating the promotion of their respective tourism products.

The response was very good with a total of 18 organisations from Sabah and 15 organisations from Peninsular Malaysia participating as Sellers and Buyers. However, in view of the limited buyers vs sellers from both sides, it was subsequently decided to consider the Travex session as a Business Networking session rather than a Buyers/Sellers Meet.

The event was a great success and provided excellent opportunity for both teams from Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah to network and foster closer business relationships.

Sabah Tourism Board hosted a Welcome Dinner on 07AUG 2015 for the participants from Peninsular Malaysia, whilst Borneo Trails & Tours in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia Sabah, hosted the airport & dinner transfers and also a half-day sightseeing tour for the participants from Peninsular Malaysia.

Mr Gordon Yapp-Deputy GM of Sabah Tourism Board, Datuk KL Tan- Director of Borneo Trails & Tours and Mr Sani Sham-Director of Tourism Malaysia Sabah also attended the TRAVEX (pre-event Briefing) and Networking Session.

The Organising Committee for this event comprised the following members :
