Dear Datuk/Dato’/Sir/Madam,

PATA MALAYSIA CHAPTER (PMC) TOURISM CAREER FAIR 2019

Greetings from PATA Malaysia Chapter (PMC) Executive Committee!

Following the success of the last four Tourism Career Fairs held in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, PATA Malaysia Chapter with the support of Tourism Malaysia, has scheduled its fifth Tourism Career Fair for 25 August 2019 (Sunday) at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The Career Fair will be a one day event aimed at connecting fresh graduates and graduates from various fields within the tourism and hospitality faculties of the universities & colleges in Malaysia with potential employers (corporate organizations) under one roof. We wish to reiterate that this Career Fair is the only one of its kind in Malaysia with a focus on the specific industry.

For this year, we are also targeting at student participants from more than forty (40) universities, colleges and training institutes within Malaysia which offer tourism and hospitality related courses. Around 30 exhibitors (organizations) are expected to participate at the fair and they include participants from the tourism and hospitality industry such as airlines, hoteliers, tour & travel agents, convention centres as well as theme/national parks.

The Career Fair will provide an excellent platform for the student participants to explore their capabilities and career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry, related to their qualification and skills.  It will also provide an avenue for the corporate organisations from the tourism and hospitality sector participating as exhibitors to network with the students, share information on their respective organisations and career opportunities, as well as to attract the best talent/qualified candidates for full-time and part-time career opportunities as well as internship programmes.

The programme for the Career Fair will also include a Tourism Career Forum to share knowledge and inputs on tourism that would be of interest and benefit to the student participants.  Prominent speakers from the tourism, airline, hotel, and travel and tour industries will share their insights, views and recommendations on a selected topic on human capital, from the perspective of their related industries.

As you may be aware, PMC had invited some of the key universities and colleges for an engagement session on 21 May 2019 to seek inputs/proposals with the objective to enhance the quality and value of the Fair. A total of 11 Universities/Colleges attended the engagement session and confirmed their support and commitment to participate in the Career Fair. The inputs and recommendations received from them have also been noted for consideration as part of efforts to enhance the quality of the Fair.

PMC would appreciate receiving the support and commitment from the remaining Universities/Colleges to send at least 100 student participants, if not more, from your respective establishments/institutions, to ensure the success of the Career Fair in achieving its desired objectives of providing value and benefits to both the student participants and the tourism industry in general.

We look forward to your prompt response by 20 July 2019, using the attached Reply Slip. Please email the Reply Slip duly completed, to patamalaysia@gmail.com, by 15 July 2019.
