The PATA Malaysia Chapter (PMC) 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) was successfully held on 09 April 2021 at the Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur and in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The AGM attracted a total of 28 attendees which constituted more than adequate quorum.
The AGM reviewed the activities and events undertaken in the year 2020, approved the accounts for the financial year 2020, approved the budget for 2021, and elected the following Executive Committee for the term 2021-2023.
Taylor’s University Sdn. Bhd, Berjaya Higher Education Sdn. Bhd. and Morahols Travel Sdn. Bhd. have been co-opted as Committee Members, represented by Dr. Joaquim Dias Soeiro, Mr. Ch’ng Chor Ban, and Mr. Eric Sinnaya respectively.
The AGM also passed the resolutions presented to amend some of the clauses in the PMC Constitution to make them more relevant and practicable to PMC. These also included a resolution to accord a 50 percent reduction in the PMC annual subscription for the year 2022 only, (for members who have renewed their membership for 2021), considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and consequential developments on the tourism and hospitality industry. However, these will take effect only after approval by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
With reference to the Calendar of Events for 2021, PMC/EXCO has limited the proposed programs for the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and developments and the following programs have been lined up for the time being :
- PMC/Erican College International Tourism Virtual Networking: Range Over Perak 2021 which was successfully held on 07 April 2021.
- PMC/PCEB/TIN Media ASEAN Summit (Hybrid) planned for August 2021 in Penang
- Industry Networking cum Fellowship Dinner (Date to be determined)
- PMC Youth Symposium (Date to be determined)
